Everything you need to know about Response Method and how it works.
Free access gives you unlimited typed response practice. Each session generates a new scenario covering one of the nine CASPer® competencies, with two questions to answer under timed conditions — similar to the real typed CASPer format. You also get five free feedback sessions — each including a quartile score, evaluator feedback on both responses, and targeted coaching prompts. After five sessions, you can continue practicing but will need to upgrade to receive feedback.
After you submit your responses, you receive detailed feedback based on the Response Method framework — the same thinking structure developed from real evaluation experience. Feedback covers what your response did well, where your reasoning could go deeper, and how to strengthen your approach for each question type.
Free users receive five feedback sessions. Premium members receive full feedback on every session, with no limit.
After each feedback session — whether CASPer or MMI — you receive a quartile score based on how your response is assessed against evaluator criteria. For CASPer, the score reflects both responses in the session. For MMI, it reflects your spoken response to the station prompt. The quartile reflects the quality of your response using the same criteria a real evaluator applies — 4th quartile is the highest.
| 4th Quartile | High response - thoughtful, well-reasoned, and genuinely impressive |
| 3rd Quartile | Medium-high response - on the right track with good reasoning and perspective-taking |
| 2nd Quartile | Developing-medium response - focus on the feedback to strengthen your approach |
| 1st Quartile | Developing - building your foundations with room to grow |
Your quartile here is not a prediction of your actual test result. For CASPer, real test scores are averaged across multiple evaluators and all applicants sitting on that day — a different process to this single-evaluator practice rating. For MMI, real interviews don't produce a quartile score at all — interviewers assess you holistically and you typically receive little or no feedback on your performance. The quartile in MMI practice is a tool to help you understand how your responses are landing against evaluator criteria and track your improvement over time — not a reflection of how real MMI scoring works.
Video response practice lets you record spoken answers directly in your browser, similar to the video CASPer format. Your response is transcribed and assessed using the same framework as typed practice. This is available to premium members only.
The scenarios are designed to be realistic and cover the same competencies and question types used in the real test. Timing mirrors the actual test format. That said, the official CASPer® test is administered by Acuity Insights and may differ in specific content, interface, and scoring — this is a preparation tool, not a replica.
Ideally 2–4 weeks before your test date. That gives you enough time to get familiar with the framework, practice applying it across different scenario types, and build genuine confidence — rather than rushing through everything the night before. Even a week of focused practice makes a real difference.
MMI practice lets you record spoken responses to realistic station prompts across different station types, just as you would in a real MMI. Your response is transcribed and assessed with evaluator-informed feedback — covering what worked, what to strengthen, and how a strong response would have been structured. You also receive a quartile score showing how your response compares. Free accounts include 2 MMI sessions with full feedback.
There are six station types: Ethical Dilemma, Policy & Healthcare, Personal Interview, Personal Attributes, Communication Skills, and Roleplay. Each session generates a fresh scenario within your chosen station type, with a question type matched to that format.
The roleplay station is a live text-based conversation where the AI fully embodies a character — a patient, colleague, or other individual — and responds to everything you write in real time. It's designed to simulate the unpredictable, reactive nature of a real roleplay MMI station, where you can't prepare a scripted answer and have to respond genuinely in the moment.
MMI feedback is structured around the same dimensions real MMI interviewers use — not a generic scoring rubric. It covers what worked in your response, what to strengthen, and includes a model response showing how a high-scoring answer would have been structured. You also receive a quartile score.
CASPer is a typed and video test — you respond to written scenarios in text or by recording a short video. MMI is a spoken, station-based interview format where you're assessed live by interviewers. The practice tools reflect these differences: CASPer practice is typed or video, while MMI practice involves recording spoken responses to station prompts across multiple formats, including live roleplay.
Yes — both 14-day and Lifetime Premium plans include unlimited CASPer and MMI practice with full evaluator feedback and quartile scoring. Free accounts include 2 MMI sessions with feedback.
Yes — before each session you can set your own prep time and response time to match your university's MMI format. Prep time ranges from none to 3 minutes, and response time from 2 to 10 minutes. Your settings are saved so you don't have to adjust them each time.
Video and audio recording — used for MMI practice and CASPer video responses — requires Google Chrome. Safari and other browsers are not supported for these features. Typed CASPer practice works across all major browsers.
The course is a self-paced deep dive into the Response Method framework. It covers all nine CASPer® competencies, how to identify the three question types, how to apply the framework to each, and includes model answers showing what strong responses look like in practice.
Most students work through the core content in a few hours. It is self-paced, so you can spread it over several days and revisit sections as needed. Working through the course alongside regular practice sessions tends to give the best results.
You will receive an email with access instructions immediately after purchase. If you do not see it within a few minutes, check your spam folder or contact [email protected].
No. Once you purchase the course, you have ongoing access with no expiration date.
No. Response Method is an independent preparation service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Acuity Insights, the creators of CASPer®.
No preparation service can guarantee specific scores. CASPer® uses comparative scoring — your result depends on your performance relative to others in your applicant pool on that specific test date, which cannot be replicated in a practice environment. What Response Method offers is a structured, evaluator-informed approach to help you perform at your best.
Yes. While the course and practice tool are designed specifically for CASPer®, the thinking framework applies to other situational judgment assessments including MMI (Multiple Mini Interviews) and any test that evaluates empathy, communication, and ethical reasoning.
Our services are intended for individuals aged 18 and over. If you are under 18, you may use Response Method with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
